Here, at Support a Squaddie we want to ensure that the thousands of men and women that make up our British Armed Forces are remembered, appreciated and, supported while they are out of the country.The British Forces currently have thousands of troops serving our Country in various locations covering the world. Most are living away from their family and friends for long periods at a time, often in very difficult and uncomfortable conditions. As we go about our daily routines, it’s very easy to forget the men and women who are willing to sacrifice everything on our behalf. It’s often a thankless job, with too many risks to mention, but they continue to be there for us.
British Forces are deployed not only in Iraq, but in places such as Bosnia, Korea, Afghanistan, and Northern Ireland. We hope, with your help, to ensure that these Troops receive regular mail, care packages, emails, phone cards, and little reminders of home. For a member of the military, to know that the people from outside your environment are thinking of you and care about your welfare can really help to raise morale. A little time and effort from you can mean the world to someone else.
The project is already working and we have had parcels and letters sent out to Troops by some of our fantastic volunteers. So we know that it will succeed as long as we have the right people behind us. We want this to grow, but we do need your backing.
